Yesterday was my 21st birthday. I still can't believe it: twenty-one-years-old but how, wasn't I like...13 the other day? I always heard time flies after your 18th year, so I want to make the most out of it and let me tell you it started out awesome!
Since I'm in Barcelona until April I already knew it would be a different year: my first birthday away from home, away from all my family and friends, but Charlie showed up and we spent the weekend with Raquel and Justo, who I loved to meet and welcomed me sweetly.
To kick off the bday, the Liceu metro station was where we met Raquel+Justo and went for some bikes to rent. We then cycled to Can Dendê in Poblenou, where we had a delicious brunch, with some Pink Lemonade and great MPB songs on the side.
Everyone was lovely and sung me the happy birthday song, I even had pancakes as a birthday cake! Lovely Raquel brought a tiny pink candle and gave me a Playmobil frankenstein toy she made a couple of years ago- and I love it <3
After eating we cycled again: of course we did! Our tummies were heavy- no regrets, everything was delicious and everyone was so nice to us (and we spoke in portuguese!).
Last time I went to Montjüic was back in 2015, but I had never went up there on a bike and it was one of the greatest experiences: tiring but gorgeous and 10/10 worth it.
We arrived to the Mossèn Costa i Lloberá Gardens- I have a post about the day Rita took me there for the first time coming up soon- because Raquel+Justo's friends had never visited it and so didn't Charlie.
We were lucky enough for having the sun out, when all we had all week were heavy clouds and cold- yay!
E tenho 21 anos. Vinte-e-um-anos. Woah.
To end the day we ate soup, tortilla and some mega yummy toasts at Raquel and Justo's, I met Flor and Tambor and left them a message written in chalk on their wall.
I just love being able to say the month flew- with a huge smile on! Barcelona is being a great experience and I can't wait for what's to come.
And I'm 21 years old. Twenty-One-Years-Of-Age. Woah.
